Whether it is just from being born and raised in Idaho Falls or from seeing him regularly performing on stage in community productions and on film, one of the most common things people say when they meet Rob is, “Hey, I know you!”. And it’s true- – he practically knows everyone who walks through our doors. If by some chance you don’t know him already, by the time you are through with your visit, you are well-acquainted and feel like longtime friends with his down-to-earth approach and genuine concern for you and your family.
Rob attended Ricks College then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Belgium and France. Upon his return, he attended Brigham Young University, earning his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health & Human Performance. He received his medical training from the perennially top-ranked University of Utah Physician Assistant Program, graduating in 2003 with a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree. He is accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a Fellow Member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). He joined Mountain West Dermatology in 2008 and was personally trained by Dr. Hinkson.
Rob diagnosis and treats all skin conditions of all ages but is particularly skilled with our pediatric and teenage patients. He has a large loyal following due to his commitment to thoroughly educating patients and taking the time necessary on every aspect of their care and treatment. His empathy concerning their skin struggles is reassuring and appreciated by patients and parents alike. He strives to make patients truly feel confident in themselves and is well-known to go the extra mile to help everyone achieve treatment success.
Before entering into medicine, Rob studied art and design and still loves to do various art projects in his free time. He has a natural talent and true artistic eye for detail that he insists on applying to his approach to your medical care and surgical procedures. He also loves acting and performing on stage in community musical productions, often starring in the comedic roles. After spending time with him in a visit, you will feel his sincere interest in you and your personal life and also leave with a smile on your face!
